I'm 36 weeks pregnant today. :o I seem to have lost many days recently. In fact, it's November already! :o
November is the last month before December. :o Where has 2009 gone?
So 28 days until Dot is due.... meaning that.. in reality Dot could arrive anytime now, and that piece of knowledge has the ability to make me turn to jelly.
I've been here before, but this is an entirely different experience. It's just as nerve-wracking and makes me just as anxious.
I have all these emotions running through my body... most of them are indeed hormones. I'm excited, anxious, nervous, terrified, ecstatic all mixed into one... making me a mess...
I'm snappy and irritable, and will shout about anything, but 30 seconds later, I'll be completely hysterical with laughter, followed (again, 30 seconds later) by hysterical tears. J doesn't have a clue where he is half the time.
I'm not sure if these feelings will calm straight after Dot's arrival, in fact I think it's more likely that they'll get worse. At least, for the short term.
My midwife is calling in tomorrow, to get the forms signed for my homebirth... I'm in love with the idea, and find it so romantic.
In reality, I don't thinks it going to be half as romantic as I'm imagining. I seem to be forgetting the actual 'labour bit'. :p
It's not going to be easy getting the consultant to agree to a homebirth, as my BMI is over 40! But I had a straightforward labour with Little Man... 4cm dilated to giving birth in 46 minutes. No stitches, and he was 8lb 3oz.
I've had a fairly straightforward pregnancy, the odd day with raised BP, but other than that fairly easy. The pelvic-girdle pain is the only real issue, and that shouldn't affect my labour too much.
The other issue 'medical professionals' seem concerned about is Dot's size, as J was over 9lb 3 weeks early and is 6' 10. But, my argument being, I have not had Gestational Diabetes, and my bump isn't huge, therefore I highly doubt my body will grow a baby too large for me to deliver naturally.
However, I've agreed to a scan on Wednesday, to check Dot's size.. and, despite knowing they're not very accurate, I would like to see Dot again before his/her birthday. :)
I've very much gone on about Dot constantly, so I'm going to start signing off now... But a few other points..
1) Little Man has a viral infection. His tonsils are up, and he has a little bit of a cough, but is otherwise in fine form.
2) I have been booked in for my Swine Flu Vaccination for Thursday afternoon. Even though I'm still unsure... *SIGH*
3) We have our BIG car back on the road now. The precious estate. A car suitable for a family of four! :)
