36+1 WEEKS
Written on 7th November but backdated. :)
I woke up at 2.55 this morning with a splitting headache, feeling like someone was pushing my eyes out, and like scraping my head against a pebble dash wall would have been more pleasant.
Taking painkillers did not kill the pain... and I was near hysterical, rocking back on the bed with the pain. :(
My lovely other half almost demanded I rang the labour ward, and they wanted me straight in...
So, there we were at 3.50am, waking up Little Man, and dropping him off at the Mother-in-Law's. Finally, getting to the hospital at 4.45am. 55 minutes! :o
My blood pressure was taken immediately, and was staggeringly high at around 180/140 I think. It's really hazy if I'm honest.
I was given medication to lower my bp, had bloods taken, and told to relax, which was pretty difficult considering the headache I had.
Half hour later it had only really gone down to 170/120, and half hour after that it was 150/100 so was told I was being admitted.... to which I reacted like a child being left by her mother. I promptly burst into tears and started clinging on to J... which he said was 'cute'.
After being given some very fetching stockings to prevent DVT, I was checked over again, and my bp had risen again to 166/120.. more meds for me.
Within a few hours my blood pressure was lower, and even went as low as 110/50... (normally around 130/65-80)
But they insisted on keeping me in. Fan-blooming-tastic... I was already missing Little Man, and was worried about him, and he had a viral infection which meant he couldn't even visit me. :'(
But, still, I did what was best for me and Dot, and decided to stay in overnight.
