I had my second consultant appointment today.. and it was a waste of bleeding time... The whole purpose of a SECOND appointment was for my ACTUAL CONSULTANT to see me, as opposed to one of her registrars.
We were called in, and there was a female, who I assumed to be my consultant. She didn't introduce herself, and just started asking me questions, and told me I am having a big baby, measured my fundal height and told me it's measuring 39 weeks.
Then she told me that they wanted to see me next week, and I wasn't having any more scans.
I asked if I could attend the consultants clinic which is closest to my home, as it's a nightmare going back and fore the hospital, and the parking is absolutely atrocious. She replied with 'I'll have to check with Mrs Consultant, please wait in the waiting room until I have done this.'
Came up against a brick wall there, as Consultant said 2 weeks at the Gwent, and she will give me a sweep.
We actually asked if we would see Mrs G, and we 'will if it's necessary'.
She then went on to say they would not induce me until 40+12 as I went into spontaneous labour myself last time. And also that it would be very likely to fail, and I'd end up needing a C-Section. I was like wtf, that wasn't my actual question? I tried to find out how they could guarantee the baby wouldn't grow too big.
Anyway, I've booked another appointment for 2 weeks, but I'm going to see if my CMW will give me a sweep on the Wednesday instead, then the consultant can bugger off. If I end up going I'm taking my Mum, and she can tell them whats what.
I feel completely let down, and really feel like I've wasted a day.
