How Much Do I Hate Birthday Parties?

I'm a parent, they shouldn't be all that bad really, but I guess it's the parent's at them which make them completely unbearable.

Little Man was invited to a little girl's birthday party today, and I thought it would be a somewhat interesting experience, unfortunately, for me at least, it was 110% unbearable.
It was a gymnastic party, at a gymnastics club, and it consisted of a warm up exercise of stretching, then using the spring board to jump over... followed by the pole to swing on... Little Man looked completely out of his depth during all this.. despite being good at the swinging, he obviously found the hanging around, waiting for his turn, boring.  As would any four year old. 
Then, once the 'gymnastics' was done, food was provided in a portacabin, which was maximum 30ft x 8ft..... and there were 24 children and God knows how many adults... roughly 2 per child.... It was heaving.  Little Man did enjoy himself though, but I kinda rushed him along as I wanted to get out.  Naughty Mummy!

I, had the worst time of my life at a party.  I wasn't feeling too good to start with, but an hour and a half standing has practically crippled me. :( 
We were about 5 minutes late, which wasn't good, and I said hello to the parents I knew there, and that was all I got out of them for an hour and a half.  They completely ignored me. :(  except for when Little Man needed the toilet.
Everyone was offered a drink, except us, and we were ignored when it came to organising. 
There was only a limited number of seats, and not one person offered me theirs.  I wouldn't normally accept anyway, but today I felt rotten, and just wanted to curl up.
I had an absolutely terrible headache and just wanted out, but Little Man didn't want out, so I stayed for him.  (My bp must be through the roof again, as I cried and cried about it, Mum reckons it means Dot isn't far away)

I also wasn't impressed with the health and safety aspect, but that's a whole new ball game. :o  I'm surprised somebody wasn't hurt.

I'm extremely emotional atm, if you couldn't already tell. ;)
